Predestined for His Likeness
2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
In my walk with the Lord I have come to know with a surety that the great I AM rules and reigns in this earth from the midst of me working in corporate unity with the body of Christ. That overwhelms me and humbles me. My most prevalent prayer these days is, "God, give me a revelation of what You have already given me. What is the treasure you have entrusted to this earthen vessel?"
God's plan that each believer we become conformed into the image of His son is not exclusively an eternal mandate, but rather a present one. As born-again children of God, the longer we live, the more we should look like and act like the risen One, Christ Jesus.
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
This word is for us individually, but more importantly, it is for the church corporately. We are transitioning into the age when the fullness of all things will come and no single individual will have preeminence in that age. Dominion will come into fullness and the Kingdom age will be manifested in the earth as the entire body of Christ comes into corporate union, fashioned together under one head, Christ Jesus.
Nonetheless, corporate understanding of our predestined state in Christ must begin with an individual understanding of it. If we are predestined to be conformed into the image of Jesus, to enter such a judicious state, we surely must have help from above. We are helpless to attain this state without Divine assistance.
As redeemed and committed children of God, the longer we live, the more we should look like and act like the risen son, Jesus Christ. We are predestined to be conformed into His image. That is our ultimate Destiny. Our lives should be continual and obvious expressions of our union with Jesus Christ. We are filled with the life of God and we must live in a perpetual state of giving that life away.
In order for the Holy Spirit to be able to redefine our lives and conform us to the image of Christ, we must first give God permission to change our definition of reality, and then we must choose to change our priorities.
God did not create you to do, but to be. Every seed fully produces after its own kind. You were once carnal, but are now in Jesus you are Divine and must release Divinity from your life.
The Father longs for a holy nation (I Peter 2:9), not solely for a few dedicated people. The anointing upon us all is far greater than the anointing on any single one of us. The whole is always greater than the individual parts. The sum of all men Divinely set in their rightful positions is greater than any single man or ministry.
Each member of the Body is a principal spice, a vital ingredient in what God is manifesting in the earth today. We have been apprehended by the creator of the universe to participate in a corporate anointing. Unity in the Body believers becoming one as the Father and Son are one is our principal purpose in this hour.
Access to the presence of God is the right of every believer. You will notice that I did not say that His presence is deserved, but we do have the right to discover all of the wonderful facets of the presence of God. The Father gave every believer that right in Jesus.
In its literal Hebrew meaning, the word presence can best be translated, "faces". In other words, the presence of God means that all of the faces of God are available to you. If you need provision, the face of the provider is with you. If you need healing, the face of the healer is with you. It is not coming to you: it is already available within you.
The highest form of seeking God is not to seek Him for our own personal needs . . . it's not even to seek Him in intercession for others . . . the highest form of seeking God is to seek His face . . . to desire to know Him and to become one in sweet intimacy with Him.
