Merry Christmas and Abundant Blessings to you and your family during this amazing season dedicated to remembering the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As Christmas approaches there is so much for us to reflect upon and we must make a dedicated effort to avoid allowing the noise of a heavily commercialized holiday to drown out the true meaning of this very special season.

One of my very favorite pieces of Christmas music is The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah. The text for this famous chorus is drawn from three passages found in the book of the Revelation:
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. (Revelation 19:6)
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. (Revelation 11:15)
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:16)

There is a story told about this chorus that says Handel's assistant w alked in to Handel's room after shouting to him for several minutes with no response. The assistant reportedly found Handel shaking and in tears, and when asked what was wrong, Handel held up the score to this movement and said,
"I thought I saw the face of God."

I want each of us to see the face of God this season. Each time I hear the Hallelujah Chorus I am drawn to look inward to the Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) who lives in me. I encourage you to make a consecrated effort to see Jesus during this season. He came for you and is your personal the Lord God omnipotent who reigns over your life. Give Jesus the highest place of honor in all you do this Christmas season.

The Hallelujah Chorus
George Frederic Handel
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
For the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

The kingdom of this world
Is become the kingdom of our Lord,
And of His Christ, and of His Christ;
And He shall reign for ever and ever,
For ever and ever, forever and ever,

King of kings, and Lord of lords,
King of kings, and Lord of lords,
And Lord of lords,
And He shall reign,
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings, forever and ever,
And Lord of lords,
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings! and Lord of lords!
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings! and Lord of lords!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
